Join the Smoke Free Movies Campaign

Young people, parents, community leaders and health professionals know that major movie studios could keep smoking out of future youth-rated movies (G, PG, PG-13) using their own voluntary rating system - no government intervention required.

If your organization is interested in participating in activities related to Smoke Free Movies, please contact Laura Cruzada or join thousands of people worldwide in signing this global petition asking the studios to support these four principles.

ScreenOut Guide

Behind the national Smoke Free Movies movement, there is a grassroots campaign to raise awareness about this major public health issue. In order to activate communities – including parents and civic groups – around the country, the Smoke Free Movies project created the ScreenOut! Guide, which provides the tools and strategies they need to make a difference on a national scale.

This step-by-step guide arms communities with important information about safeguarding America’s youth from smoking in film through activities such as:

  • Letter-writing campaigns to movie studios.
  • Petitions to keep smoking out of movies.
  • Advocacy opportunities directed toward Hollywood’s decision makers.
